A “Brazilian Butt Lift” is a procedure that involves lipocontouring (suction assisted lipectomy) of the patient’s abdomen, flanks, hips and back, with fat transfer to the buttock. The liposuction portion of the surgery serves to reshape the patient’s waistline, in addition to removing fat from the abdominal area, bra-strap region, and back region. Subsequently, the fat is prepared and injected into the buttock during the fat grafting portion of the case to achieve a larger buttock with a more lifted appearance. The fat grafting also allows for the creation of a more pleasing buttock shape and overall appearance. Depending on the amount of liposuction performed, the procedure may be performed on an outpatient or inpatient basis. The procedure is performed through very small incisions, usually 2-3 mm in size, that usually heal without significant noticeable scarring. Before and after photographs are available in the office during your consultation.
